    3. Hi Browning Hunters, I'm looking to connect up with other Browning researchers whose lines moved from MD to Mason & Fleming Co, KY around 1800. Data I've collected so far: No Browning family taxed in Mason Co., KY in the 1790 rolls. Taxed in the year 1800: --------------------------- Basil Browning Fleming Co., KY William Browning Fleming Co. <- *possibly* my line(?) Edmund Browning Mason Co. Jeremiah Browning Mason Co. Thomas Browning Mason Co. Originally I *thought* my John Browning was John Henry Browning, but all of the records I have found him on so far show him as John N. Browning. JOHN N. BROWNING (b. 1808 in KY and d. aft. June 1871) consistently lists his place of birth as KY and his third marriage record (in 1871) lists him as born in Fleming Co., KY and his parents born in MD. So, I think the John N. Browning who married first to Catherine Bramel is not the John Henry Browning born in VA. This John N. Browning married three times. All marriages are recorded in Mason Co., KY: 1) Catherine Bramel on March 31, 1829 (I have more on their children.) 2) Frances (Willett) Cooper on June 23, 1863 - they undoubtedly divorced because she is still alive when he remarries again, this was the second marriage for both of them. 3) Catherine (?) Applegate on June 15, 1871, her second marriage and his third I believe that John N. & Catherine (Bramel) Browning moved to Indiana and lived for awhile in the 1840's. They returned to Mason Co., KY and are enumerated on the 1850 and 1860 census there. Their son, William Fendal Browning b. March 06, 1843, frequently lists IN as his place of birth. Does any of this fit or match with anything that you have collected at this moment in your research? Is anyone else hunting Brownings in northern KY about 1800 that came from MD? Best Regards, Kathy in MN
