Hello, I had not heard about a Peregrine Browning in North Carolina. There is a Peregrine Warfield Browning, b. ca. 1811 in Clarksburg, Maryland, son of Meshach Browning, b. 1756, who was the son of Jonathan Browning Sr. (my ancestor). Peregrine is an extremely rare name. This might be an important clue linking the North Carolina Brownings with the Maryland Brownings. Has anybody pursued this? Hurley's book does not list a Peregrine Browning in North Carolina, so this is an exciting possibility....
