I have never seen any real proof that John Browning who died in 1803 in Greene Co, GA was ever married to Elizabeth Demarest. Does anyone have proof? Also this John did not name a son James in his will. What is the proof that he had a son named James. In his will, John left $1.00 to his son Joshua. Rather than thinking they were not on good terms, I prefer to think that perhaps John had already given Joshua his inheritance in the form of land etc. The two were both rather prominent in Caswell Co., NC land deeds etc. They both moved to GA at the same time also.
