Hello everyone, Welcome to our new listowner, and thank you, my SA neighbor! I don't have much, as far as my Browning line. My ggrandmother was Sarah Catherine Browning. She was born 2/2/1865 in KYand died 1/2/1955 in Letcher County KY. She was married to Benjamin E. Gish 10-14-1888 Muhlenberg Co., KY. Her parents were Vincent Browning and Elizabeth Wright, according to her death certificate. I found a few Brownings on Census records. Some look pretty close. Lots of inconsistencies though. 1870 Muhlenberg Co. KY Easles? Vincent Browning 22 M W farmer b.KY personal value4200. Mary E. Browning 31 F W Housekeeping b. ILL. Sarah E. Browning 3 F W at home b. KY. The dates don't match, but there have been errors in censuses before. My Sarah was Sarah C. not E. and should have been 5 not 3. 1880 Muhlenberg County Summers District Luticia Browning W F 52 wife housekeeping b. KY - father b. VA - mother b. VA. Vincent Browning 42 W M 42 farmer b. KY - father b.ALA - mother b. TN. S. Browning 13 W F daughter b. KY . This house also lists several Wrights... ? Wright W F 23 daughter field hand..some note about deteriorating health b. KY Robert Wright W M 21 son field hand b. KY Edmond Wright W M 18 son field hand b. KY Lida Wright W F 84 aunt rheumatism b. VA - father b.VA - mother b. VA This one seems closer to my line, but S. (sarah?) should have been 15 not 13. I also noted that the wife is 10 years older than Vincent, but named Luticia Wright where in the 1870 census, Mary E. was 9 years older. Maybe Vincent married twice? These are most probably 2 different families, as Vincent and his wife are both 20 years older in 10 year time. hmmmm Well, I'll continue searching. Patty
