Plus wild life coming & going at will, We are searching for a link to Brownings in & out of California this line must have come for the gold . My grandfather was [b] 1866 in Stockton CA. He was Charles William Browning [m] My grandmother Helen Pinkham [b] abt. 1869 Stockton California, [m] 1st a Mr. Barman [m] 2nd (I think) my grandfather, He, my grandfather may had been married before also, There were Barman & Browning children in this union, I never knew any of them. My father was Bernard Chauncey Browning was [b] June 01, 1905 San Francisco, California.[d] Feb. 16. 1962 in Anchorage Alaska. (Before I gave much thought on doing family history so didn't ask the questions I now wish I had.) After the earthquake in 1906 (we think) they moved to Los Angeles, were Helen died in the 1920's ( unknown on death on grandfather) I have found him (grandfather) on a land claim in Trinity CO.. in northern California with a Francis Browning , Dec. 15.1879 at abt age 13. wrote a long time ago for the paper work still waiting. The earliest Browning we have found in California is a Jacob Browning in San Francisco, in the 1840's. If any of you have Brownings that came early to California we need you, We have lots of Brownings looking for their roots in & out of California.
