Hello, I am new to this list. I am a descendant of John Lewis Browning, b. 22 Sep 1777 in northern Montgomery County, MD, son of Jonathan Browning Jr., b. 16 Sep 1750 and Margaret Lewis. John Lewis Browning married a Sarah Ayres/Aires (we are not sure of the spelling of her maiden name), reportedly of the Baltimore area, on April 13, 1802, in Montgomery County. The couple moved west, probably leaving Maryland between 1815 and 1820, and stopping for a few years in Pike County, Ohio, before moving on to Vigo County, Indiana, where they spent the rest of their lives. I am the great-great grandson of their daughter Milcah Susan Browning, who married William Denny in Vigo County, IN, in 1831. Do any of you have any connection with the Ayres/Aires family? I have never figured out Sarah A.'s parentage. Thanks, Ron Bachman
