    3. There is no Solomon T. in the Browning book by Wm Hurley, but he does say that the Browning families who moved west into the Ohio River Valley and the ones who moved more south into NC,SC, GA and westward into Mississippi, Texas, etc were connected at some point, but there is as yet no documentation of where the branches were severed. Note on Meshach Browning, 1781-1859, from the Hurley book: ...one of the more famous members of the Browning family. He lived his life in the mountains of western Maryland, and while virtually an orphan at a very early age, with little education, he made a name for himself that has been noted in history...born i Frederick County and died in Great Glades, Allegheny County, Maryland; the son of Joshua Browning (1735) and his wife, Nancy Farmer, he is buried at Hoyes, in Allegheny County. Taken in by childless relatives after the deaths of his parents, Meshach was promised he would become their adopted son and heir; however after 20 years of marriage, the aunt gave birth to a daoghter and the family's attitude toward him changed and he was severely beaten, prompting his move into the mountains alone...he became 'the great hunter'.
