Some new evidence came to me that will change what many thought were his children, including me. It nows seems like Spencer, Maihen, & Mary (Polly), were not his children, but wards (he was their guardian). So who were the parents of these 3 children? From "TN Tidbits", Vol 2, p37, George Browning appointed guardian for Spencer, Maihon, & Polly Browning, dated Nov 16, 1814., with him as security, Caleb Browning, Benjamin Tucker, Austin Solomon. From Robertson Co., TN, will book 3, p246, estate inventory of Aug 1, 1816, of George Browning, Dec. Mentions Spencer, Maybin, Polly, had been given some items from a "friend" in NC, including $50 each, collected by their guardian, George Browning
