This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: BROWNING Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HNG.2ACEB/1654 Message Board Post: Postings on this board and at other sites suggest that Capt. John Browning, b. ca 1594, may be a "qualifying ancestor" for membership in the Jamestowne (Jamestown) Society. If the membership process is anything like that for the Mayflower Society, it is very challenging. I would be interested in learning if someone has been successful in this effort and if they would be willing to share their research.
There is no documentation that I know of- no known source- for documenting Capt. Browning. If anyone knows of any documentation I would be interested. The records of Jamestown were burnt. So the only source I know of is passed down genealogy.
