Surnames: Browning Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HNG.2ACEB/1680.2 Message Board Post: The oldest Hosea Browning I have researched so far is Hosea Douglas Browning, DOB 1806 Tennessee and DOD 1876 Panola County, Texas. This Hosea and his wife, Elizabeth, had at least 11 children, including Hosea D. Browning, DOB August 1850 Henry County, Tennessee. In this family, a few of the older children remained in Tennessee (including my ancester, James Reuben Browning) while Hosea, wife Elizabeth and the younger children moved to Texas. In various census reports, the younger Hosea is listed as "Hosie", seemingly a nickname. You didn't say where or when your Hosie Everett Browning lived, but he may be related in some way to my Tennessee/Texas Brownings. Post more info if you have it and I'll see if I can help you out.
