I am still looking for stuff I had packed away but haven't found anything yet. Sure wish I knew where it was, would save me lots of trouble. I did run across something, Ruben (possibly spelled Rubin) had four sons, Francis Marion, Robert B., Marshall Henry and Reubin W. Browning. Does that ring a bell.

Salina C. Browning was born about 1830 in Georgia and she married Williaim H. Stephenson on 8 July 1849 in Chambers County, Alabama. They were last shown in 1880 census living in Dadeville, Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Does anyone know where they were located after that date? What happened to Salina, when did she die, where is she buried? It is known that William H. Stephenson died 21 Feburary 1910 in Dadeville. Thanks. Hello listers, By now most of you have received an email from Rootsweb explaining about the changes in the mail software used to deliver messages. The BROWNING list is now on the NEW "Mailman" software. Messages may appear differently than the old software, but there should not be too many differences. Those of you who were subscribed in "L" mode (receiving each and every post as a separate email) and also subscribed in "D" (digest mode-several messages in one email) will find that you will now only be subscribed in "L" mode. If you do wish to be subscribed in both modes, you will have to use different e-mail addresses in order to do so. That's the way the new software is configured. If you have always been subscribed in Digest mode only, that will not change. To send a message to the list you may do it the way you have always done by sending a message to Browning-L@rootsweb.com or, you may now drop the "L" and use Browning@rootsweb.com Either one will work. If you use filters, they may have to be "tweaked" in order to still work properly. Since it has been a while, I'd like to suggest that we start off on the new system with a message from YOU! Who were your Browning ancestors? Where were they from ? What "brick wall" would you like to break down? Post some details on list. Maybe there's a "cousin" who has joined since you last posted your information that can fill in some details for you. Looking forward to a message from you all . . . In addition, if your ancestor isn't on the BROWNING MOST WANTED http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~beanfamilies/browning_most_wanted.h tml Send me an email giving me the information you want posted. Also, for those of you who have posted, please check your email address on the Most Wanted site. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HNG.2ACEB/1672 Message Board Post: I’m looking for a Francis Browning of Orange/Culpeper county VA who signed the death inventory of my ancestor, Isaac Chapman in 1747. I’m curious about Mr. Browning because I’m trying to locate the place in Orange county where the Chapman home stood. My assumption is that Mr. Browning would have been a neighbor. Perhaps, they lived in a part of Orange county that became Culpeper in 1749. But, perhaps, they may have lived in the part of Culpeper that became Rapahannock in 1833. I see where a Francis Browning purchased from John Farmer 100 a. of land adj. to William Duncan on the southside of Middle Run in 1753, witnessed by Samuel Scott - all three names appear in the estate appraisement of Isaac Chapman. Was Middle Run in Rappahannock? I’ll be a very infrequent visitor to this page; please, if you have something to share, also cc: me at winwinsit at hotmail dot com Rees Chapman

I am working on the children of David and Vashti West Browning namely the family of their son Jonathan Daniel Browning and Arrena Mathews and have a question about their son, George W. Browning, b. 21 August 1840, Hancock County, Illinois Is he the George W. Browning who married Ellen H. "Nellie" Gray and then married Constance Gross? I found another reference for hinm as the son of John Browning and Elizabeth Bryant. Which is correct? I descend from the son of David and Vashti West Browning, Edmund Green Browning who came to Oregon in the 1850's.
