    1. [BROWNING] Granville Browning, Caleb Browning
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Browning; Rucker; Leard Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.browning/2674/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My gggrandfather Caleb Browning, born in VA, died 18 FEB 1850 in Morgan County, IL. (His wife Eliza Ann Rucker B: 8 SEP 1807 died <1843>). After he died, four of his five children were living with other known family members (as researched by census records). The eldest daughter, Eleanor Browning B: 29 MAR 1832 in IL, was listed in the 1850 St. Clair County, IL census under Alfred C. Land who was actually Alfred C. Leard. His wife was Martha Ellen BROWNING B: 19 AUG 1819 in Robertson, TN. Martha's father was Granville Browning B: 1790 in VA. I am trying to get a connection between Caleb and Granville as the above info would lead me to believe that Martha and Eleanor were related in some manner. In the probate records for Caleb, there was the name of E. H. Browning but have no idea who this was. Just thought I'd toss in some more names for you "Granville" researchers.

Surnames: Browning Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.browning/1548.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, My grandfather was Ray Browning from Logan, West Virginia. You might try googling Captain John Browning who settled in Jamestown, VA in 1622. You are probably part of the same line as my family. My uncle also found a book at the Library of Congress called The Browning Book that had a lot of geneology of the Brownings. Hope this info is helpful to you. Linda Harris

    3. Cindy, thank you so much for the info below. The info on the Francis's is about 20 years old but the info on Elizabeth LLOYD was fairly new. I hope you can help. If Elizabeth LLOYD died without issue, is there another Elizabeth LLOYD who married Francis or did this Francis marry someone else entirely? 3. Which Lebanon is that? I could try searching the 1930 census in Lebanon for your family, if I knew which state and county it was in. What were the names of the kids in Frank and Margaret's family?
