I have an article from The Times-Democrat, Flemingsburg, KY, April 6, 1950, written by Billy Talley, that speaks highlyof Major Jacob Reed (War for Independence) and his son General William Reed (War of 1812). William Reed was born Loudoun county, VA, 2-24-1770, died Mason conty, KY, 6-21-1835. He married Mary Moore of Hunterdon county, Province of New Jersey and Loudoun county, VA, born 6-10-1770, died 6-21-1835. Their children were: Rebecca Reed; Jacob Reed; Captain John Moore Reed; Sarah Reed; Joseph Reed; Nancy Reed; Mary M.Reed; James Reed; William Reed, junior; Elizabeth R. Reed; and Julianna Reed. Julianna Reed married my gggrandfather Ludwell Yancy Browning.
