    1. [BROWNING] William Perry Browning
    2. Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm looking for any information about William Perry Browning (B.10-13-1813) of Fayette Co. Ky. He married Emeline Armstrong on 1-2-1837. His parents were Col. James Browning (10-2-1768 - 7-7-1825) & Jane Morrow (1-4-1778 - 6-4-1864), who also lived in Clark Co. Ky. for a time. He had a brother, Edwin, who married Elizabeth Armstrong. I have some information about his maternal great-grandparents, but not much. What I'm really interested in is any children that he & Emeline may have had. Her obituary (2-7-1890) lists her as a widow & mentions the "family residence", but not the family. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Roxanne

    1. [BROWNING] DR. MARTIN PERRY BROWNING, also HARRINGTON, BRADLEY
    2. Dr. Martin Perry Browning, who is successfully engaged in the practice of osteopathy in Macomb, McDonough County, Ill., was born April 6, 1879, in Scotland County, MO., a son of WILLIAM PERRY AND ESTHER (HARRINGTON) BROWNING, both of whom were born in Pike County, Ill. His paternal and maternal grandfathers were, respectively, WILLIAM BROWNING AND MARTIN HARRINGTON. In his boyhood, Dr. Browning attended the public school in his neighborhood, and in the spring of 1899 completed his course in the normal school. Subsequently he entered the American School of Osteopathy, at Kirksville, MO., from which he was graduated in 1902. He commenced the practice of his profession at Griggsville, Ill., where he enjoyed a good patronage. Desiring, however, a wider field of effort, he transferred his practice to Macomb, January 24, 1904. He has been the only practitioner of the osteopathic school located in Macomb for the past two years, and has already rendered professional service to a large number of patrons, which is constantly increasing. In November, 1905, he formed a partnership with DR. O. E. BRADLEY, of Memphis, MO., and they have established themselves in the Gamage Building at Macomb. On January 1, 1901, Dr. Browning was united in marriage to CORA W. BRADLEY, who was born in Scotland Co., MO., and pursued her early studies in the district school and at the normal school at Kirksville, MO. One child has resulted from this union, PAULINE LUCILLE was born January 19, 1901. The religious connection of Dr. Browning is with the Christian Church. In politics, he belongs to the Republican party, and fraternally, is identified with the I. O. O. F. The brief period of his endeavors in Macomb gives assurance of a successful professional career.

    3. I cannot find a connection between my (very few) Brownings and Lee Brock's. Sending this in case you see something I missed. Regards, Karen Fieldstad Descendants of Joseph Browning 1 Joseph Browning b: Abt. 1787 in Virginia .. +Rebecca White b: Abt. 1791 m: January 07, 1812 in Barren County, Kentucky On the 1850 Barren County, KY census there were several people living in the same residence as Joseph but their relationship to him is unknown. Those people were: Samuel Browning (33), Nancy Parrish (36), Elizabeth Bradshaw (34), Fanny Barry (31), Mary Browning (25), Joseph H Parrish (9), John Parrish (8) Virgin M Powell (17), Mary C Barry (5). Assume some or all of these were children and grandchildren. The value of Joseph's real estate was listed as $1200. On the 1860 Barren County, KY census, two people were living with Joseph: Nancy Browning (47), and Elizabeth Browning (45), assume this was Nancy Parrish and Elizabeth Bradshaw mentioned on the 1850 census minus their married names. The next residence lists Fanny Browning (40) and Mary Browning (32) who were likely the Fanny Barry and Mary Browning listed on the 1850 census. None of these women could read or write. Assume that Joseph was still supporting Nancy, Elizabeth, Fanny and Mary since neither listed an occupation. On the 1860 census, Joseph's real estate was valued at $2500, and personal estate was valued at $500. ......... 2 Susan Browning b: Abt. 1822 in Kentucky ............. +John White, Sr. b: 1811 in County Cork, South Ireland d: May 06, 1876 in Kentucky m: December 22, 1844 in Barren County, Kentucky .................... 3 Thomas R. 3. Lee, I have a question which you may be able to claify. I had believed Elizabeth Browning, daughter of Enos Browning to be the husband of Barnabus Curry. In Ragland's history of West Virginia, Two brothers and a brother-in-law were one of the first settlers in what is now Logan co., WV. The brothers were Edmund and Francis Browning and the Brother-in-law was Barnabus Curry. Barnabus' wife was Elizabeth Browning. Does anyone have clarification on this? 3. Hi Laura, I hope the death certificate resurrects something for you. Maybe some Browning researcher with family in WV will be able to help, but females are sometimes hard to find. One of my ancestor's children were listed with all of the boys names, most of the girls names, one listed only as daughter. I was surprised to not find her in Social Security Deaths for 1952. She should have drawn some benefit, either wife's benefit, or widows benefit, or her own record. Maybe you can get some help from the Allegheny Regional Family History Society (ARFHS) ----- Original Message ----- From: Laura Curry <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, September 15, 1999 11:13 PM Subject: RE: [BROWNING] Anybody Home? > Winslow, > > Yep that's right!
