    1. [BROWNING] Release of PAF 5.1
    2. rg_criswell
    3. For those of you family history buffs who also use Palm Pilots, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints just released a new version of PAF, PAF 5.1 which has an export feature that enables you to use your data in the new PAF for the Palm. I just downloaded them both today and then installed them on my hand-held. It worked great! This will be a great tool for places like NARA and other research facilities. You can take all your data in the palm of your hand. Best part is the price.... they're both free! Check out www.familysearch.com for the downloads. PAF 5.1 was about 9megs and took about 30 min. to download at 56k. Hope you all are able to use this. Raymond Criswell Pasadena, MD http://msnhomepages.talkcity.com/DeckDr/al_rjl/index.htm

    2. Donna, Where is Bracken Co., Ky? My g-grandmother was Leah Browning, from Carroll Co., Ky. Do you know if these two counties are close to each other? I have not been able to find out anything about my g-grandmother, except that she married my g-grandfather, Henry Brierly, from Henry Co., Ky. She may have also been from Henry Co., Ky. My grandmother, Jennie (Brierly) Floyd, was their daughter. I keep hoping someone will have the link I need to find out more about my g-grandmother. If you have any connection to Leah Browning, or if our counties are close together, please let me know. Thanks Pat

I have an ancestor, William Browning, who married Ellen Tucker in Bracken Co., KY in 1845. A coincidence? Perhaps. But i might be interested in seeing if perhaps your Tuckers and Brownings might have migrated to KY at some time.

    3. In the online KY death index, there is a Henry Brierly that died at the age of 63 on 03-23-1922. It looks like a really good match for your g-grandpa. I don't see a Leiah Brierly in Henry Co. Perhaps she remarried or died in some other location. Typically what I do in a situation like this is to get the one death certificate. Find the cemetery and then look to see if the one spouse is buried next to or near the other spouse. You may get lucky and find a stone that has her name, Leah ????? and her death date. Then, you can hunt for her death cert. and hopefully find her parents. Also, since he died in 1922 in Henry Co., I would check the 1920 (and other years) census for Henry Co. and see where she lists her place of birth. Her name was Leiah Browning, (may be Lea or Leah). She married Henry Brierly. She was from around Henry Co.
