    1. [BROWN] Brown's in Louisiana
    2. Hi! My Brown's are from Louisiana (supposedly). My grandfather Edward Brown ran away from home when he was 16 and never returned and never saw any of his family again. What he told his wife and children was this: Supposedly his mother died when he was 14 his father (Robert Brown) remarried and he did not get along with his step mother so he moved in with his mother's brother (mother's name Sallie (Manning) Brown. My grandfather supposedly had two brothers one named Woods and another named Joseph. Anyway my grandfather and his Uncle got into a fight and my grandfather thought he killed the Uncle and took off and never had anything else to do with any of his family. So consequently I don't know if my real last name is Brown or not. I have searched records in Lousiana trying to find a Robert Brown or a Manning Family. Supposedly one side of the family owned a sugar plantation the other side a sugar factory. What whose knows, I certainly don't. If anyone out there has heard a story like this I'd love to hear from you. Thanks Lora
