    3. Sharon, I would appreciate your seeing if there is a Elmira BROWN in your records. I don't know her parents or anything beyond. She shows up in the 1860 census for Pike County, Ill as married to Joseph THOMAS, with three children. She was born in Illinois, 22, June, 1834. The 1880 census shows her father born in Tennessee and her mother born in Kentucky. By 1865 they were in Jo Daviess County, and in 1865 left for California. The 1860 census spelled her first name as Alvira. I have a good record of this family down to the present, but nothing for either her or her husband beyond this.
