    2. Sorry, I should know better. Was just replying that Browns came from more than Germany and Scotland. My Thomas Brown came to PA from Ireland. Whether they stopped anywhere along the way was not stated. He was married to Elizabeth Ramsay. They are my ggg-grandparents.     3. Of course, a lot of people who came to the US from Ireland were from Scotland originally and had been resettled in Ireland by the English. Ramsay sure sounds like a Scots name, too.
