I've dead-ended on her everywhere (Yes, I've tried the HATCH and MAINE ROOTSWEB lists), and I thought perhaps since there were so many LOWELL families in Maine during that time, there might be records somewhere of Martha Jane LOWELL and somewhere in those records it might, just might, say what Abigail HATCHs maiden name was, or who her husband was. I know Abigail HATCH had three children, Frank, Fred, and and daughter (I forget her name right now), in 1850-1853, and that Abigail HATCH re-married, Samuel LITTLEFIELD, in August, 1856. In 1862, they had twin girls. My conclusion is that she must have been married, maiden name unknown, prior to 1850, to (given name unknown) HATCH, and had three children, Frank, Fred, and the little girl, right off the bat. And that the unknown husband must have died after the conception of the third child (1852) and prior to the re-marriage (1856). I found some information that seemed to say Abigail's maiden name may have been BRAWN, from Mercer, Maine, but that hasn't held up (but isn't completely disproven either). Thanks so much, -David
