Robert M. Brown Sr., 79, of Jesup, Georgia died April 23, 2007, after an extended illness. The Rivera, Florida, native had lived in Wayne County most of his life and was the retired owner of Brown’s Upholstery. He was a member of Jesup Church of God, and former member of San Mateo Church of God in Florida. He was predeceased by a son, Homer Brown. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Taphenia D. Brown of Palatka, Florida; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Dean Brown of Ludowici, and James and Carol Brown of Jesup; two step-daughters, Judy and Bruce Hurst of Palatka, Florida, and Ann and Fred Williams of Accokeek, Maryland.; one step-son and his wife, Buddy and Rita Taylor of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Ethel Spray Anderson of Jacksonville, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Sapp and the Rev. David Price officiating. Interment will be in Jesup City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.mn. today Wednesday, April 25, 2007 from the funeral home. Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
