Okay, here is my second Brown line that I spoke of earlier this afternoon. This one is on my mother's side of the family. My 3rd great grandfather: Ezekiel Brown, Sr. born about 1769 in Virginia - son of Wiliam and Sara Brown) and he died in 1863 in Harris Co., GA Ezekiel married Elizabeth (Betsy) Merritt in 1803 in Green Co., GA. They had the following children: William M. Brown, Ezekiel Brown, Jr. (my 2nd great grandfather), Reuben Brown, Frank Brown, James Brown, Bluford Brown, Adeline Brown, Emeline Brown, and Catherine Brown My 2nd great grandfather: Ezekiel Brown, Jr. born 1806 in Greene Co., Ga, married his first cousin on the Merritt side - Emily Greene) They had the following children: Franklin, Amanda M. (my great grandmother), Elizabeth, George, H. Harrison, Jane, Mary, James, Nancy, and Charles. Ezekiel, Jr. died in Henry Co., AL (as far as I know) between 1860 and 1870. My great grandmother: Amanda M. Brown, born about 1830-33 in Harris Co., GA, married John Q. Thomas in March of 1850 in Harris, and they moved to Coosa Co., AL during 1860. They had the following children: my grandmother, Susan Americus Thomas, born on Christmas Eve, 1850; Emily, William, Nollie, and George Washington Thomas. My grandmother married John F. Gilbert in 1869 and she died in 1944 in Clarksdale, Mississippi (Coahoma Co.) when I was only 8 years old. She lived a very long life just like her great grandparents, Ezekiel Brown, Sr. and Elizabeth Merritt Brown. Susan had a very large family, of which my mother was one of the younger ones, born in 1890, and then my mother had me very late in life in 1936. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT! My other Brown line.
