I wish I could help you. I have a Brown line that seems to have originated in MS except the census says he was born in Alabama. In looking around, I have bumped into the Ransom Brown (it's a peculiar name) that you have mentioned, BUT I have no idea where. The reason I was looking in Virginia is because there was a Robert Brown living close to the widow (Martha Brown) of my g-g-grandfather in Yalobusha Co, MS. I think it was in the 1870 census. The census said he was from Virginia and I thought he might be a relative. It didn't turn out. It's a small thread but maybe it will tie in somewhere for you. Good luck Ken Brown ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Thanks for writing. I do know of another Ransom Brown who was in Attala County, but he is not MY Ransom Brown. Let me know what Brown you are researching and I will try to help YOU.
