It sounds like you having as much trouble as I am trying to find info on my ancestor John M. Brown born abt. 1852 who knows for sure where he was born. He died in Conway Co. AR. I have not been able to find brothers or sisters or father. I do know his mothers first name was Lydia, her husband a Brown died then she married a man with the last name Longbottom. She was born in 1802 in Vermont. So would you please give me the links that you have had the most success with in searching these states in particular New York State.
