Most of this information is proven, but not all. Any help finding the parents of George is greatly appreciated. Betsy It is believed the parents of George Brown came from Maryland with the Catholic Migration, about 1790. We base this assumption on these facts. 1) George said his parents were born in Maryland on the 1880 Hart County, Kentucky census. 2) The family was Catholic based on the baptism records of Georges family found on the ST. Catherines Catholic Church records, in New Haven in Nelson County, Kentucky. 3) This is a stretch to base an assumption on but true nonetheless, George married Juliet Ann Lush, daughter of William Lush and Elizabeth Greenwell. We know this line of Greenwells were Catholic because Elizabeth was the sponsor for several baptisms at St. Catherines George was born about 1812, in Nelson County, Kentucky, according to his son Hillary. He stated on one of his marriage certificates that his father was born in Nelson Co, KY. He died between 15 June 1880 and June 1900, place on unknown, based on the Kentucky Federal Census, (the 1890 census being lost to fire is the reason for such a big time span). He married Juliet Ann Lush on 15 February 1836 in Hardin County, Kentucky. She was born about 1815, don't know where and don't know when she died. She was the daughter of William Lush and Elizabeth Greenwell.
