    3. What was her married name? Is she in any census under her married name which could show her parents' places of birth. I just looked at the 1870 census and there are over 1000 Andrew Browns. There is only one Mary Jane in Illinois with approx. right birth date and it is not her as parents are different. There are no Mary Jane Browns the right age frame in the 1870 census. If you could say what you do know about her a bit more it could help. 3. Thanks Karen, for replying to my email. The problem is, we know nothing about her other than her first marriage was to an unknown Bowlds, apparently he died early in their marriage as she and John Melton were wed in 1896 in IL I was able to get the name of her parents from the application for marriage. She did have 3 children by Bowlds, Carl, b 1891, Lena, b. 1889, and Earl, b. 1894. I have no information about those children other than the boys moved west. I'll keep searching and asking questions! Thanks again, Wilma ----- Original Message ----- From: "Karen Conroy" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 24, 2007 11:13 AM Subject: Re: [BROWN] Andrew Brown poss in IND or ILL > What was her married name? 3. In 1910 the Bowlds children are in the household of Charles R. Bowlds in Wayne county ILL listed as niece and nephews. I also found WWI registration for both William Earl was in Montana Park county and Carl was in Story county IA at the time they registered. I know this does not answer your question as to Andrew Brown and Rachel but they are also descendants and older, perhaps descendants would know more. Another line to work on.
