My 4th great grandfather was Peter Brown who was born in Belfast, Edgefield, South Carolina. He had a son named William S. Brown who was born 10 Nov 1802 and died in Cherokee County, Alabma 27 Jan 1883. He also had another son named William Edgefield Brown, b. 1811, died 19 Jan. 1901, somewhere in GA. These are the only William Brown's I find in my data. Don't know if any of this relates or not.. But I really appreciate your information as it may help me rule out BROWNS as I go along. The number of William ? BROWNs is mind boggling.
