    3. My 4th great grandfather was Peter Brown who was born in Belfast, Edgefield, South Carolina.   He had a son named William S. Brown who was born 10 Nov 1802 and died in Cherokee County, Alabma 27 Jan 1883.  He also had another son named William Edgefield Brown, b. 1811, died 19 Jan. 1901, somewhere in GA.   These are the only William Brown's I find in my data.  Don't know if any of this relates or not..   Tom  --- On Sun, 4/19/09, pattyca103@aol.com <pattyca103@aol.com> wrote: From: pattyca103@aol.com <pattyca103@aol.com> Subject: [BROWN] BROWN SC 1780-1790 to 1850 To: brown@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, April 19, 2009, 1:14 AM Is anyone researching BROWNS in Spartenburg, Lauren, or Richland Cos in SC? I am looking for information on a William BROWN born perhaps between 1790-1780. He may not have been born in SC but may have been in the Spartenburg Co area from 1810 to 1846, 1847 or 1848 when he may have died. He also may have spent some time in GA in 1812, 1820 and 1821. He may have won some land in the GA Land Lottery in Cherokee Co GA. I am sorry that I can't be more definite. I am trying to dismantel a very stubborn long standing brick wall. If anyone has run into a William BROWN that may have been in these places or if you are working on BROWNs of that area of SC or GA please share your information with me. Thank you. 2. Hi! Tom Thank you for your quick reply. I don't think we have a match because my William was married and having children by 1810 and 1812. But I really appreciate your information as it may help me rule out BROWNS as I go along. The number of William ? BROWNs is mind boggling.
