About 1898 Dorothy Brown was born to unknown parents in Anderson County. I have not found her on the 1900 or 1910 Ancestry census. In Nov 1920 she married Morgan Rufus Mink in Knox County, TN where both individuals lived. This was Morgan's second marriage. They moved to Franklin County and had a child stillborn and another son. Later they are in Washington State and a son is born. No one knows why they moved across the country. By 1928 Morgan Rufus Mink is serving a three year jail term and Dorothy gives the three boys up for adoption. They lived in Kingsport, TN at that time. Morgan Rufus died south of Tazewell, Claiborne County in the early 1930's and supposedly Dorothy was already deceased. Neither death certificate has been located. All of the people named above are deceased and the TN Adoption records are now open. The Mink family has been located and would also like to know what happened to Dorothy. The two boys raised families, but they and their wives are deceased. Letters have been sent to various Brown families in Anderson County, but as of yet, no one has recognized the family.
