Totally agree, Bud. To tell you the truth, I get ticked off at people who close their messages with a request to contact them offline. They're subverting the purpose of online boards and mailing lists. I've learned from experience that these people are usually the type who will pump you dry, without giving anything in return. Most rootsweb frown on making a very long message; I got kicked off Lee's rootweb because I was saying about the same thing Bud is now saying; I don't think there are many left on there right now. We Browns have so many William Henry Brown's (my grandfather b 1868 IN.) that it was hard to sort all of them. As soon as it is found out that my grandfather was born out of wedlock And his father was married and also had children with wife number on; and more children with wife number two. But he never married Ellen Johnson born Ohio 1835 my gr grandmother) my gr grandfather was William (H?) Brown born abt 1822 Ohio; I have tracked his line to Samuel Brown b VA abt 1797. I agree, also. If everyone would work together and not offline, just maybe we could break down some brick walls. I post everything that I find, except for a living person. I have never down loaded any thing on ancestry, but I sure do fine lot of my information there on several different families. I am tired of paying ancestry for my own information.
