I don't have much information. Brown is such a common name it it hard to document with good records. Here is my lineage through my gggf. Lineage Name Born Location State Mother Jessie Mae Chastain Cox, 06/16/1912, Crossville, AL G Mother Sarah Ora "Sallie" Brown Chastain, 10/16/1885, Cleborne County, AL GG Father Raymond Issac Brown, 6/25/1855, Rockdale, Randolph County, AL GGG Father W. L. (Maybe Love") Brown, Abt. 1835, I am told that Raymond Issac Brown had large land holdings in DeKalb County, AL near Crossville, Boaz, and Kilpatrick. He left my Grand Mother two farms, one near Kilpatrick and one near Boaz. I understand that the larger portion of his farm is now the Auburn University, North East Alabama, Experiment Station. He married Evie Ola Thrash, b. 11 May 1866, on 15 Jan 1885. I am not sure where. My Grandmother was the oldest of nine children, the Others were, Benjamin O., Fararmer (sp?) "Farmer" Allen, Vestula Estell, Alice Pearl, Frannie Viola, Alma Celie, an Infant daughter, and Beulah Lois. I have birthdates. A child was born every three years after Benjamin in 1887. Most of the children remained in or around DeKalb County all their lives, on the farms they inherited. Most, if not all, are buried in the graveyard at the First Methodist Church in Crossville, DeKalb County, AL. I do have some info. on wives and Children, if anyone recognizes the family.
