Hi List I sent some of this recently, but I have included you on this email because it includes additional birth dates and places of birth. Hi Lana Thanks for your reply. Yes , I know, Sand Mountain, I was raised in Boaz in Marshall County, AL. My Browns settled in and around Crossville, Kilpatrick, and Collinsville, in DeKalb County. Raymond Issac Brown and maybe W. L Brown moved to Cleborne County, AL, before the births of Raymond's children. Raymond and family then moved to DeKalb County between 6 Aug 1887 and 6 May 1890. Here is my lineage through my gggf. Lineage Name Born Location State Mother Jessie Mae Chastain Cox, 06/16/1912, Crossville, AL G Mother Sarah Ora "Sallie" Brown Chastain, 10/16/1885, Cleborne County, AL GG Father Raymond Issac Brown, 06/25/1855, Rockdale, Randolph County, AL GGG Father W. L. (Maybe Love") Brown, Abt. 1835, No other info. I am told that Raymond Issac Brown had large land holdings in DeKalb County, AL near Crossville, Boaz, and Kilpatrick. He left my Grand Mother two farms, one near Kilpatrick and one near Boaz. I understand that the larger portion of his farm is now the Auburn University, North East Alabama, Experiment Station. He married Evie Ola Thrash, b. 11 May 1866, on 15 Jan 1885. I am not sure where. My Grandmother was the oldest of nine children, the Others were, Benjamin O., b. 6 Aug 1887, Cleborne County; Fararmer (sp?) "Farmer" Allen, b.6 May 1890, DeKalb County; (all the remaining were born In DeKalb County) Vestula Estell, b. 26 Jan 1889; Alice Pearl, b. 15 May 1896; Frannie Viola, b. 10 Feb 1899; Alma Celie, b. 18 Mar 1902; an Infant daughter, b. 2 Jun 1907; and Beulah Lois, b. 27 Jul 1907. Most of the children remained in or around DeKalb County all their lives, on the farms they inherited. Most, if not all, are buried in the graveyard at the First Methodist Church in Crossville, DeKalb County, AL. I do have some info. on wives and Children, if you ar interested. If you have GEDCOM files, or files from other databases, related to this family, I would like a copy. This Email address is on a server which will be closed down soon. A better address for me is chcox@e7cs.com; but, I sometimes access this mail only on week-ends. I would like to know if you recognize any of these names. Thank you, have a nice day!!
