Edward Trial attorney and the first president of the San Fernando Valley Criminal Bar Association, Ed was born February 7, 1930 in Sandusky, Ohio. He died November 17, 2000 at the Los Angeles home of his wife, Kathleen Cooper Brown after a short but intense battle with cancer. Ed attended public schools in Sandusky, Ohio and college at Ohio State University. A combat veteran of the Korean War, he returned from military service to Los Angeles where he became a business agent for the Screen Actor's Guild while attending Southwestern Law School. After graduation, he practiced law in the San Fernando Valley for many years in the partnership of Bonelli and Brown. An esteemed member of the California Bar, he was also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the San Fernando Valley Criminal Bar Association. Besides a life in the law, Ed was an enthusiastic golfer, skier, boon companion and avid football fan. A long time member of the Lakeside Golf Club, Ed leaves behind a host of colleagues and friends who will miss his unique personality. He is survived by his widow, Kathleen Cooper Brown of Los Angeles and son, Thomas Brown of Lafayette, California. A private Gathering of Remembrance will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 9.
