Happy New Year All: Thought I'd post a few generations that have been a problem and see if any of you might have a connection with "My" BROWN line. Lorenzo BROWN b. 12 September 1807 Boston, MA. d. 5 November 1871. He was the son of James BROWN and Nancy Bryant. I'm told that James, the son of Hope BROWN was disinherited and disowned by his family who were wealthy because he took up with Nancy Bryant who was his fathers' servent girl. When they married, they had in addition to Lorenzo.....a William 1806, Norman 1811, Sophronia 1813 and Clarinda. Clarinda was born in Woodstock, N.Y. 1817 which means that James and Nancy must have left Massachusetts and moved to N.Y. at some point. Clarinda died at Claybanks, Oceana, Michigan by the way. Lorenzo married first Diana CONANT and they had two children before Diana died. He married second my great, great, grandmother, Clarissa Ann NYE and their family numbered five. They were George Lyman BROWN, Julia Ann BROWN, Eugene L. BROWN, (My great grandmother, Ellen Brown and a Lyman BROWN. Most all the children were born at Eden Valley, Erie, N.Y. except for George born Broadalbin, Fulton, N.Y. I have very little data on any of the children I've mentioned but would sure like to find someone who has any. Ellen, b. 1 August 1853, died in Maywood, Illinois. She married my great grandfather, Sidney G. Hickok at Coral Michigan in 1872, son of James Hickok and Jane GALBREATH. Ellen and Sidney had six children including my grandmother, Nettie Pearl (Harris) HICKOK. The others were Bert Lorenzo HICKOK, Claude Clifford HICKOK, Clara Belle HICKOK and two more daughters both born in Cleveland, Ohio. I have more data to share in the event that I make a connection with someone on the list. My ancestors go back to Thomas BROWN and Bridget BATEMAN as I imagine some of yours do. Regards to all,,,John Claude GUMMOE,
