With the list manager's permission, I'm passing along this info. I seem to recall seeing a few posts from people with William Brown ancestors. I just noticed the following book is being offered on Ebay auctions. This is the title and a brief description: "A Genealogical Record of William Brown and Descendants" by W. H. Taylor. Published in Baltimore: Gateway Press, 1978. Revised with a new index. Originally published in 1905. The seller of this book lists many of the Allied families, as well as wives' maiden names. I am NOT the seller and have no connection to the auction, but with such a common name as Wm. Brown I thought others might be interested. I had hoped it would be about my ancestor, but it's not. The seller's initial asking bid is steep, but there's enough info so that someone should definitely be able to figure out if the book is about their William Brown. Good luck. Just trying to help others like myself who have hit brick walls with their Brown's (my direct ancestor is George Brown(e) b. ~1690, England and of Frederick Co., MD in early 1700's). Happy Holidays!
