    1. [BROWN] Browns
    2. Hi Mike, Congratulations on finding John Brown! I am also a Brown descendent; my Browns came into NC from ? We had assumed Scotland, but I cannot locate them there. I am interested in the ship you referenced in your previous mail. I can place my Browns in NC ca 1760, and from family notes, it may be possible that they did not sail from Scotland. Do you know the name of the ship? My line is thus (I think, but without being able to place the origin, I can't be sure.) The following information was provided by Glen McGugan of NC. We share the same ggrandmother. Neill Brown (born ca 1735; died ca 1819 Robeson County, NC) married Sarah McPhaul b. ca 1838, d. May 8, 1815 Children: Duncan John Peter Mary Isabella Neill Daniel Duncan Brown born ? died ca 1845. Married Mary McNeill ca 1807. (This date is suspect, because of the bith dates of the children) Children: Daniel Brown b ca 1817 Jemas Brown ca 1818 Neill Brown ca 1822 Margaret Brown ca 1824 Archibald Brown ca 1828 Daniel Brown born ca 1817 (my gggrandfather) married Mary McLean February 22 1841 in Robeson County. Children: Martha Brown John Daniel Brown b July 18, 1844; died Jan 19, 1920 (John Daniel is my ggrandfather, and I had already had some information on him) Alexander Brown Elizabeth Bettie Brown Archibald Brown Sallie Brown Locke McLean Brown Duncan Brown John Daniel Brown married Elizabeth Jane Graham in 1868. these are my ggrandparents. Children: Maggie Daniel Archie (my grandfather) Laura Caroline Flora Mary Ann and, maybe, William Angelo (can't find him, but my dad remembered an Uncle Angie) Daniel A Brown married Celestia Mathews, moved to Jackson or Pulaski County GA. They are both buried in Cordele GA. They are my grandparents. Does any of this match? Let me know; I have more, too much, if there is no connection, to transmit. Barb Brown Hootman
