    1. [BROWN] Re: suggestions for research direction
    2. Any information or suggestions for additional information would be greatly appreciated. Bob Dances with Clouds Brown: Have you utilized the site www.origins.net? This is a fee based searchable site that has the Scotland General Records online. If you have one of your lines birthdate the was born in Scotland, you can use the site to pull up and view the parents, shire, and record # that was entered. You then can order an extract that is "proof" of that person, the extract comes as a 8½ x 11 sheet with the particular entry along with an embossed seal. If you would like I have the extract info of members of my tree that were from the Bonhill,Dumbarton area of Scotland, as notes on the homepage below. You can also see what a copy of the extract looks like at the Origins site. They also have Parish records, as well as new records recently added to the site. Good Luck on your searches on the # 5 most common name in America. Respectfully Keith W Brown Indianapolis, IN http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/b/r/o/Keith-W-Brown
