    3. This is research I found last year when in St Clair Co., IL. I DO NOT KNOW THESE PEOPLE. I AM ONLY REPORTING WHAT I FOUND. Wm G. Brown was born in Prince Edwards Co., VA and emigrated to KY. His first wife Martha was born in 1779 in North Carolina. Wm. G. Brown homesteaded property in Engelmann Township, St. Clair Co., IL. in 1816 when he & his family arrived from Kentucky. Wm. G. Brown called the property his plantation 'Long Point'. In 1826 he was elected as a member of legislature. He was active in organizing Volunteers for the Black Hawk War. This is a brief excerpt from page 218 of a St. Clair CGSQ#4. It says the abstract for his property contains additional information about the Brown family. If anyone is interested in this: contact Martha Mae Schmidt. an inventory was made 12 Nov 1989 by Marvin Dickhaut, Elsa E. & Martha Mae Schmidt.
