    1. [BROWN] Re: BROWNs in ILL, esp James Oswald

    3. KEN, I will keep a look out but I am sorry to say I have limited my IL research to just the Southern half of IL. I have purposely stayed away from Cook Co., IL. It is too massive for me at this time. However, I realize I just might have to break down and do just that. Several of James & Kizziah's 7 sons that married listed on 1900 census that their parents were from MO. Where that idea came from I can not figure out. But it tells me that there just might be some kind of connection to a MO family of Browns. My Browns were in Saline Co., AR by 1846 and on the Census there in 1850, then on to CA in 1852. Where they remained. So the Browns I am interested in finding, are all the ones that were in IL prior to 1838 when my James got married. He wasn't very helpful in listing his place of birth other than on 2 census reports. 1850 he said (or someone said OH) 1860 he was listed as being born in KY. He was born in 1816, possibly in November. But I will keep a look out for your James Oswald Brown. One never knows where information might show up.
