In April, 1996, I found in the COX vertical file in the Randolph Room at the Asheboro Public Library the following marriages that a genealogist Rev. Joseph Brown TURNER found during his research on his ancestor John D. BROWN, b. 1804 md. Jean BRAY, b. 29 Feb 1808. BROWN and Elizath MOFFETT Surety: Adam MOFFETT _9 July 1817 Eli BROWN and Betsey BRAY (hole punched at date) 12 Nov. 1815 Fredk, BROWN and Nelly STALEY 14 Aug. 1802 Jacob BROWN and Elizabeth BROWN Surety: Samuel JOHNSON 25 May 1802 Samuel BROWN and Mary DAVIS Surety: Joseph DAVIS 1 Nov. 1804 Lemuel BROWN and Sally DEVINEY 22 Dec. 1814 Braselton BROWN and Sarah COX Surety: Jonan.
