Hi List, Here are the the Browns I am researching. Most of my information has come from the efforts of my cousin Hayes Brown who was nice enough to share what he had learned. Robert Brown b. February 15, 1788 in Georgia d. May 31, 1884, in Hancock Co. MS buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Robert served in the Creek Indian War of 1813 and 1814 in Southern Alabama. During this time his father (name unknown) was apparently in Baldwin Co. AL. Robert later moved to Perry County MS and married Jane Davis d/o James Davis and Elizabeth Daughdrill. Jane was b. in 1812 also buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Hancock County. Children of Robert Brown and Jane Davis 1. Sara Elizabeth "Betsy" b. 1/10/1832, Perry Co. MS d. 12/11/1920 buried in Turtleskin Cemetery in Hancock Co. Married to Richard Miller, Jr. on 2/15/1855. 2. Thornton Brown b. 1/13/1833, Perry Co. MS d. 4/11/1925, in Hancock Co. buried in Turtleskin Cemetery. Married to Mary Ann Whitfield 5/10/1860. 3. Sarah "Sally" Brown b. ? in Perry Co. d. ?. Married J.O. Bennett in Hancock County 6/22/1868 4. Jane Elizabeth b. 8/5/1838 in Perry Co. d. 8/17/1916, Hancock Co. Married to Henry S. Hutchinson 5/21/1863. 5. Keziah "Kissy" Brown b.2/14/1839 Perry Co. d. 7/26/1911 in Vernon Par. LA. Married to Franklin Plummer Landrum 2/12/1854. 6. Rebecca Brown b.11/15/1840 Perry or Hancock Co. d. 12/4/1906 Hancock Co buried in Turtleskin Cemetery. Married Jesse Emmitt Smith 5/26/1863. 7. Harriet Brown b.8/2/1844 Perry or Hancock Co. d. 3/11/1924 Hancock Co buried in Turtleskin Cemetery. Married James W. Smith 6/5/1862. 8. Reuben Brown Sr. b.11/15/1846 Hancock Co. d. 12/7/1926 Hancock Co buried in Turtleskin Cemetery. Married Surrella Thigpen 7/3/1867. 9. Matilda Brown b. 9/22/1847 Hancock Co. d. 11/11/1915 Hancock Co buried in Turtleskin Cemetery. Married Thomas J. McArthur 2/12/1864. 10. Artylisy b. ? d. ? buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery 11. Infant buried Cedar Grove Cemetery. Thornton Brown (my gg grandfather) married Mary Ann "Coon" Whitfield b. 1/8/1844 FL d. 8/20/1921 she was the daughter of Seaborne Britt Whitfield and Nancy Byrd. Chrildren of Thornton and Mary 1. Nancy Jane Brown b. 2/14/1864 d. 8/26/1881 2. Green Thomas Brown b.5/28/1866 d.4/1/1947 married Mary Elizabeth Keller 3. Will Thornton "Willaby" Brown b. 8/8/1870 d.9/26/1897 4. John Bird Brown b. 10/1/1873 d.1/4/1929 married Victoria Eugenia Lott 5. George Albert Brown b. 9/24/1875 d. 1960's married Addie 6. Elsie Irene Brown b.2/1/1878 d. 8/20/1902 married Dr. Whitman Landrum 7. Green Thomas Brown (g grandfather) married Mary Elizabeth Keller d. 1954 Children of Green and Mary 1. Henry Wilson Brown b. 10/10/1885 d. 3/24/1956 married (1) Marie Cotch (2) Ed Toehill? (3) Augusta "Gussie" Edwards 2. Grover Cleveland "Cleve" Brown married Rose Whitfield 3. Arthur Brown married Ethyl Fortenberry 4. Annie Brown married (1) Christian Cotch (2) Louis Vardo 5. Herbert Brown married Roda Lee 6. William "Will" Thornton Brown married Sara Myrtle Brown(decendant of Reuben Brown Sr.) 7. Baby Boy twin to Annie. Henry Wilson Brown was my grandfather. I have more infomation on Green children and grandchildren. Most of his grandchildren are still alive and have grandchildren of their own.
