MARY ESTHER BROWN (above) was the daughter of WILLIAM BROWN, JR. (b. 1810 / Cynthiana, KY; d.1871/buried in Island Grove, Sangamon Co., IL) and SUSAN BRADFORD FINLEY (b. 1812 / Cynthiana, KY; m. 1835 / Jacksonville, IL; d. 1866/buried in Island Grove, Sangamon Co., IL). I don't know the names of any other children they may have had. WILLIAM BROWN, JR. (above) was the son of WILLIAM BROWN, SR. (b. 1779/Frederick Co., VA; d. 1833/bur.in Isl.Grv, Sang.Co.,IL) and HARRIET BURGESS WARFIELD (b. 1788/place unkn; m. 1805/Cynthiana, KY; d.1850/Island Grove, Sang.Co., IL). Additional child of Wm.&Harriet: RUTH ANN BROWN (no added info). WILLIAM BROWN, SR. (b.1779;d.1833;above) was the son of JAMES BROWN, JR. (b. 1742/Mansfield, Spotsylvania Co., VA; d. 1815/Libben Grove, Bourbon Co., KY) and ANNA DAVIS (b. 1746/England; m. 1764/Culpepper Co., VA; d. 1799/place unkn.) I have no other info as to other children they may have had. JAMES BROWN, JR. (b.1742;d.1815;above) was the son of JAMES BROWN, SR. Hello, James and others interested in this line. You posted to the Brown mailing list a few months ago. I was doing some quick research for Brown's in my local library and found a book "Early Settlers of Sangamon County" IL (I was in a hurry and forgot to copy the author/date, but can go back and get that this weekend). Anyway, I found info on these people listed below in your post! It doesn't say who the parents of James (b. 1708) were, only this: "BROWN, WILLIAM, was born April 19, 1779 in Frederick County,Virginia. The family have a record reaching back through his father, James Brown,born April 19, 1942, O. S., in Spotsylvania county, Va., to his father, James Brown, born April 29, 1708, O.S., in Middlesex county,Va., whose parents emigrated from England." I would be happy to copy this and mail to you (and anyone else) if you'll sending me your mailing address. It has quite a LOT of info on siblings and some info on William's life.
