He married HELEN MARIE VOGEL on 13 Dec 1913 in Waukegan, Lake Cnty, IL, who was born 08 Feb 1894 in Waukegan, Lake Cnty, IL, and died 03 Aug 1985 in Chula Vista, San Diego Cnty, CA. They are both buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Point Loma, San Diego Cnty, CA. The first child, RICHARD EUGENE BROWN, was born in Illinois 17 Dec 1914. He died 30 Oct 1992 at the San Diego Naval Hospital, Coronado, San Diego Cnty, CA. He married KATHERINE KNOX, who was born 18 Apr 1914 in California, and died 24 Nov 1988 in San Diego, San Diego Cnty, CA. Their first child, DONALD EUGENE BROWN, was born 05 Jul 1939 in Imperial Cnty, CA and died 07 Aug 1980 in La Mesa, San Diego Cnty, CA. All three are buried at Holy Cross Cemetary, San Diego, San DIego Cnty, CA. Two daughters survive. The second child, JUNE MARIE BROWN, was born in Boston, Suffolk Cnty, MA 21 Jun 1916. She died 03 Jul 1969 in Memphis, Shelby Cnty TN. She Married JOHN ALLEN PARKER, who was born 06 May 1907 in Des Moines, Polk Cnty, IA, and who died 10 Dec 1973 in Memphis, Shelby Cnty, TN. They are both buried at Memphis National Cemetary, Memphis, Shelby Cnty, TN. One daughter, SALLY TERESA PARKER, was born 05 Feb 1953 in Alemeda Cnty, CA and died 16 Aug 1985 in Nashville, Davidson Cnty, TN. She is buried at Hermitage Memorial Gardens, Hermitage, Davidson Cnty, TN. Two daughters and two sons survive. The third child, VIRGINIA MAY BROWN, was born in Norfolk, Ind City, VA on 31 May 1922. She died 06 May 1992, in Saratoga, Santa Clara Cnty, CA. She married CHARLES FEATHERLING MACLEAN, who was born 19 Jul 1914 in Tacoma, Pierce Cnty, WA, and who died 12 Jun 1994 in Saratoga, Santa Clara Cnty, CA. They were cremated. One daughter and one son survive. HENRY's father reportedly died early of the same heart problems that HENRY did; and althought his given name is unknown, I suspect EUGENE was his middle name. His mother's maiden name is thought to have been SARAH SHERMAN. Both father and mother are listed as unknown on his death certificate. According to family history, HENRY actual died on a ship at sea off the coast of California. He was listed as a US Navy pay clerk on the back of a photo taken 23 Sep 1906 in Guantanomo Bay, Cuba. He was a member of the Elk's in Waukegan, Lake Cnty, IL. He was known as GENE, and his wife was known as MARIE. They had also lived in Long Island City, Queens Cnty, NY; and had only been in Coronado, San Diego Cnty, CA for 122 days when he died. His youngest daughter turned 3 the day after his death. The summer of 1961, on a trip from California to Tennessee, my family made a stop in the Dallas-Fort Worth area so that two of his female relatives could meet with us at the motel. Since I was but a child then, and nearly 40 years have passed, I don't remember much beyond that and the fact that they were "old" like my gramma. And like my grampa would have been had he not died on 30 May 1925.
