My illusive Brown is my 2nd GGrandfather William Brown. William Brown born 1801-1803 in Ohio, died between 1853 and 1860 in Illinois. 1st marriage Deborah McQueen in 1829 in Bartholomew County, Indiana. Deborah died in 1835. Deborah was the daughter of Thomas McQueen. 2nd marriage Sarah Stoughton McQueen in 1837 in Bartholomew County, Indiana. Sarah and William were divorced in Columbus, Indiana in March of 1842. Sarah was the daughter of Edward Stoughton. William and Sarah had one child Mary Eliza Brown. Mary Eliza married Joshia Fults in Bartholomew County, Indiana and then Thomas Ireland in Bartholomew County, Indiana. No other information is know about Mary Eliza Brown at this time. 3rd marriage Elizabeth Devore my 2nd GGrandmother in August of 1842. William and Elizabeth had 4 children. Josephine Brown born in 1844 in Bartholomew County, Indiana Minervia Brown born in 1848 in Bartholomew County, Indiana William B. Brown born in 1850 in Bartholomew County, Indiana. William B. was my GGrandfather. Paul Brown born in 1853 in Lawrence County, Illinois. William, Elizabeth and Josephine are assumed to have died before 1860. At the time of the 1860 Census in Crawford County, Illinois their 3 youngest children are found living with Joshua B. McQueen. Minervia the 2nd oldest was raised by the McQueen's in Bartholomew County, Indiana. Minervia Brown married John Jackson Lilley in 1871 in Effingham County, Illinois. They had 3 children, Ernest, George and W.J.Paul all born in Effingham County, Illinois. Minervia married Thomas J. Martin in 1888 in Effingham County, Illinois. No other information is known about Minervia Brown but it is known that she was living in 1921 in Illinois. William B.Brown married Lucinda Ealy Osborn in 1883 in Effingham County, Illinois. They had 2 children, Curtis my Grandfather and William V. they were twin sons. William B. Brown died in Effingham County, Illinois in August of 1915. Paul Brown married Jemmiah Blair in March 1883 in Effingham County, Illinois. Paul Brown died in July of 1883. They had one daughter Gracie New Year's Brown. Gracie Brown died in April of 1884.
