His wife preceded him in death almost a yr previous to his. Surviving children at time of June 4, 1903 are: James Brown, Mrs. John Osmer of Beardstown, Mrs. A. G. Beach of Moline, Mrs. Charles Hiles of Camden (she is also in the lineage with husbands side), Mrs. Ellen Melvis of Chicago and Mrs. Emma Beaston of Kewanee (both sides- husband and mine)
