Burwell (Burrell etc.) married Mary Urvin (Irving, Irvin etc.) and had at least Irvinne, Elizabeth and George Mary was the dtr. of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Peterson. Elizabeth was sibling of Dr. John. Jeremiah married Elizabeth and had at least William, Mary, Burrell, Robert and Henry. How does this family tie to the Burwell's in Ga. later? A few weeks someone on the list responded to my Brown query asking about Burwell Brown.in connection to my line. Since then I have taken notes when I ran across the name, but unfortunately have deleted or misplaced the address.Therfore I'm posting it to the list in hopes he or she will see it. This is all from the internet so I can't vouch for it's accuracy. Item #1. Mary or Martha BATTE d/o Henry , b 1667 Prince George Co VA m 1st Mr. BROWN. Children Jonathan and BURWELL. (somewhere I found mention of her will , but can't seem to locate it right now---I'll keep looking ) Item #2. Brunswick Co VA order book 1 pp 335 1740 BURWELL BROWN, security for Burchett, now wife of Edward GREEN and late widow of Joseph Turner, decsd , for her administration of the sd Joseph it is ordered that the sd Edward and Burchett give the sd BURWELL bounden security or deliver up the sd estate to him for indemnities. These families were early emigrants to VA and later moved to the Wake/ Johnston Co area of NC , Anson Co and SC and points south over the years. They tended to intermarry for many generations,( several children of one family marrying siblings of another, and probably more often than not related in some way.Other names affiliated with these lines are TAYLOR SPEIGHT , WATKINS, GRIFFIN , SANDERS, TULLY., HOLMES, BYRD-- and of course, BATTE, GREEN, BROWN, LIGON and JONES.
