Hello Browns. I am having very little luck chasing down my Brown family. The earliest ancestor I know about is Abraham Brown, born abt. 1818 in Bath County, Ky. He married Elizabeth Hensey, and in 1850 they were living in Nicholas County, Ky. He is listed as a tailor. At that time they had one child, Sarah Jane. Later several other children were born in Nicholas County. Among them were Cyrus and James Alison. James is my great grandfather. Abraham assisted with the Underground Railroad, and because of that his family had to flee to his brother or uncle Daniel Brown in Claremont County, Ohio. Before 1870 they moved to Rush County, Indiana, where they settled on a farm near Milroy. If there is anyone who can help me with this family I would really be grateful.
