This could very well be my ancestor, But the trouble is that each one of his sons named one of their sons William, and each one of them named one of their sons William, etc.,etc. In 1820 there were 25 William Browns listed on the TN census, and by 1830 there were 70 ....and less than a dozen had an initial for their middle name !!!
