Wm Brown is 25 yrs old, widowed, a boatman by trade, living in the first ward of Albany in the 1850 federal census for NY. He is living with his 4 yr old daughter Mary, and 3 girls he and his wife "adopted", possibly all related and from Ireland. They are: Elizabeth Wilson, age 18; Mary A Miles, age 17; and Maria Bergen, aged 10.
