    1. [BROWN] Originall Browne
    2. I recently messaged to this site concerning an ancestor, Originall Browne b. 1575 (means this person was born in the year 1575, and this is as far back as I can go with this line and I would like to go further), which I have been using and reading on different genealogical sites for quite a while. A gentleman responded to my message with a great deal of information; much of which I already knew; but some was new to me. It appeared that the statement above (Originall Browne b. 1575) was confusing to him and he thought it would be to others. Is he correct in this concern? Is the form of the inquiry incorrect? One thing I have always tried to do is to make my messages fit to the forms most used. I want my messages perfectly understood. If they are not understood, they are useless and a waste of time. If anyone has any thoughts on this please inform me of my error. In the meantime, I have received several excellent answers to my first inquiry; for which I am grateful to those responding. If anyone else has information on one Originall Browne b. 1575 England; d. 1655 Virginia, please let me know. Thanks for reading. Gordon Reid Hale Grand Prairie, Texas

    3. I read the gentleman's informative reply and it appears there was a simple misunderstanding. I think he assumed you were a neophyte genealogist because of your (apparently naive) claim that the original Browne was born in 1575. Of course you meant that your ancestor's first name was "Originall", not that he was the first Browne. Your form was proper and his reply was well-intended and useful, it just answered the wrong question.
