Hello All, It has been a long time since I have posted to the Brown List. I would like to make contact with any descendent's of the John L. Brown married to Sarah Causey, born about 1808 in NC. They lived in Coosa County Alabama, Hatchet Creek district during the 1850 census. I believe they moved to Simsboro, Lincoln, Louisiana where he died October 17, 1871. Sarah died in Texas. Any information would be helpful. Randall Colston

Hi List.. It is again time for my annual question on Edward Brown. All I have is that he was born around 1808. Unproven that he is in Texas in 1836. Proven that he was captured during the battle for San Antonio against Gen. Adrian Woll , taken to Mexico and held in the Perote Castle. Part of the "Black Bean" episode. His widow received a pension for husbands war service during the Mexican- American war 1846 - 1847. He married in San Antonio in 1844, raised his family and lived out his life in the Atascosa County area. What I do need are his parents, siblings, or any information prior to 1844. tia greg > >
