    3. Dear Brown List: My great grandmother, Ellen Brown was born 1 August 1853 in Eden, N.Y. and she married Sidney G. Hickok after he came back from the Civil War. Ellen had siblings George Lyman Brown, Julia A. Brown, Eugene L. Brown and Ellen was the youngest (as far as is known). Ellen and siblings were the children of James Brown, and Nancy Bryant. James was the son of Hope Brown and Ruth Hosmer Brown of Sudbury/Concord, MA. The information beginning with James becomes murky and hard to find. Does it ring a bell with any of you? The story goes that Hope and Ruth were well-to-do. and that Nancy Bryant was a servant girl in Hope's home. James fell in love with her and they married and he was disinheritied by his family. Children of James Brown and Nancy Bryant were William Brown, Lorenzo (father of Ellen) Norman Brown, Sophronia Brown and Clarinda Brown of (seems like around Boston?) Lorenzo, by the way, married (1) Diana Conant who died young and (2) Clarissa Ann Nye who was Ellen's mother. There is Zero (I mean Zilch) information about Clarissa. With this outline, is there anyone out there can help me add the remaining branches to my tree? Does'nt seem to be any info on the children of Lorenzo and Clarissa either. HELP!!..     3. Hello, I am new to the mailing list and got this e-mail address from the Melungeon Digest. Guess I am still not real clear about exactly what Melungeon is, but do have all of the physical characteristics - olive skin, bump and ridge at the back of the skull and the ridges behind my teeth. I have tried to do research on my family and have run into a blank wall on my grandmother's side. Hopefully someone here can help in some way. My grandmother's name is Lora Ethel BELL. The information that I have is that she was born in Albany, KY 6/29/1889 and died in Muncie, IN in 1953. Her father was Marion BELL and her mother was Rebekah BROWN, neither of them lived in Indiana. Family stories indicate that she was an American Indian. She (Lora Ethel) married Lee O. CLARK while living in Albany KY.     3. Hi, this is my first post to this listserv - hopefully I'm making it informative enough. I am looking for information regarding the family of Frank D. BROWN and Frances REED. Frank BROWN later changed his last name to BRAUN (a family story says that this was done after Frank and Frances divorced). I know that he had a son, Frank Cyril BRAUN, born in 1910 who was my grandfather. I am unsure of the location of Frank C. BRAUN's birth, but my father believes that it may have been Baltimore, Maryland. I am not sure if Frank C. BRAUN had any siblings. Frank C. BRAUN later relocated to Philadelphia, PA.     3. I have additional information on my William Thomas Brown. My very elderly Aunt remembered that Ellen was a sister to William Thomas Brown and was like a best friend to my Grandmother Bessie Brown. Ellen went for several visits to Decatur, Illinois. My Grandfather and Ellen "had words" and Ellen never returned. My father said for some reason he thinks that my Grandfather did not live with his parents. I looked at Ancestory.com's 1910 Census to find a Jesse and Martha Brown had children with Ellen and William, but William had NR instead of an age. I am hoping to find a connection. William Thomas Brown b-11/14/1887 or 1889 stated his birthplace as Kentucky stated his birthplace as Powder Mills, Kentucky Stated his parents were Jim Brown and Ermin(a) McKinney Rita L. Coventry
